If you purchase a domain from a hosting company such as GoDaddy, 1and1, WinHost, or any other company, you can setup TruVisibility to use that domain. This will allow visitors going to your domain to see the website you designed with TruVisibility.
NOTE: To setup your domain with TruVisibility, you must have access to your account with your domain hosting company. If you do not have a login or access to your domain account, please contact your hosting company first to get this information. If you have no experience in setting up a DNS, we recommend you contact your domain hosting company for assistance.
To configure TruVisibility to use your domain, go to the Website Channel.
- On the left navigation panel, select Settings.
- The first step is to validate that you own the domain. Enter
the domain name in the field and click proceed.Enter the domain name in the field and click generate code.
- We give you a few ways to verify ownership of the domain. We recommend that you use the option for DNS TXT.
the next step a unique code will be displayed that you will use to create a DNS
TXT record in your domain hosting companies system. If you know how to do this
with your domain hosting companies management tool, control panel or zone
editor, then you can do this yourself. However, if you have no experience with
this, we recommend you contact your domain hosting companies support department
and tell them you need to create a DNS TXT record, and provide them with the
NOTE: The code must be entered in your domain hosting company's system within 48 hours of generating it. If you don't use it within 48 hours, generate a new code.
- After the DNS TXT record is entered with your domain hosting company, click the confirm button.
you will need to configure the DNS or Domain Namerservers with your domain
hosting company. The DNS for TruVisibility is: ns1.truvisibility.com and ns2.truvisibility.com.
If you need assistance with setting up the DNS with your domain hosting
company, contact their support department and tell them you are trying to
configure your DNS. You will need to provide them with the DNS for
NOTE: Depending on your domain hosting company's process, the change can take up to 48 hours to complete and it may take time to propagate the changes. We recommend that when you make the DNS change with your domain hosting company, that you do it off hours or on the weekend as it does take time for the changes to propagate through the web.
the last step, go to the website editor in TruVisibility for this website, and
publish your domain.
