Introduction

This article considers functionality of the File Uploads tab. It contains all the files uploaded by the visitors into the chat widget window. 

The File Uploads tab is located in the left sidebar of Chat. Here you can see all the files uploaded by the visitors into the chat widget window.

You can configure the file uploading in the chatbot settings. Go to the Diagram tab of your chatbot, click on the script node, then click “Edit Script”.

After that, click a content step node. Now you can set up the file uploading. Select the File Upload element.

Now the file uploading function is added to your chatbot. You can customize the file type, the maximum file size and other parameters.

Let’s get back to the File Uploads tab. It contains seven columns: File Name, Chatbot/Agent, Lead Name, Lead Email, Classification, Size, and Date.

In the File Name column the name of the uploaded file is displayed.

You can sort the uploaded files by name. To do this, click on the arrow icon.

The Chatbot/Agent column shows the name of Chatbot/Agent that received the file.

By clicking on the content of the column, the page with agent settings opens.

The Lead Name column displays the name of the chat widget visitor that uploaded the file.

The Lead Email column contains the email address of the chat widget visitor that uploaded the file.

By clicking on the content of both Lead Name and Lead Email columns, the History tab with information on the visitor opens.

The Classification column displays the file type you assign to the uploaded files e. g. screenshot or resume.

In the Size column, you will find the size of the uploaded file.

The Date column shows the file upload date.

You can sort the uploaded files by date. To do this, click on the arrow icon.

Each file has a set of icons on the right corner of the page.

If you hover your mouse on the bubble icon, you can see a visitor left a comment to the uploaded file.

By clicking on the copy icon, you can copy the uploaded file URL.

By clicking on the new tab icon, you can open the uploaded file in the new tab.

You can also filter the uploaded files by three parameters: Agents/Bots, Chat Connections, and Time.

By clicking on the All Agents/Bots button, the dropdown list with all your agents and bots appears. You can choose any to filter the uploaded files.

By clicking on the All Chat Connections button, the dropdown list with all your connections appears. Choose any to filter the uploaded files.

Click on the All Time button, and the dropdown list with time periods will open. You can filter your uploaded files by upload time.

You also can choose the custom time period by clicking on the Custom button at the end of the list.

You can export an uploaded file, download it in ZIP-file, or delete it. To do this, check the box in front of the needed file and then click on the ellipsis (the three stacked dots) in the upper-right side of the page. After that, choose the needed option.

You also can apply these actions to all your uploaded files. To do this, check the box in the upper-left side of the page. After that, click on the ellipsis and select the needed option.

This is an example of the uploaded file in the chat widget window. The visitor can upload images, audio, video, and documents.
