Introduction

An SMS blast is a text message that is sent to a wide group of recipients at a time. Just as an email blast, its main purpose is to promote a product or a service or to inform customers about discounts or upcoming events. But while email blasts give you more space and the ability to use media, SMS blasts are more likely to be opened and read. That's why it's a very popular way to communicate with customers. Let's create your first SMS blast together.

Tips To Edit A Message

Mind The Number Of Characters

Mind the number of characters in your message! If it is longer than 140 characters, it will be split up into several texts, and each one of them will be sent separately.

Use Custom Fields

You can personalize your message by using custom fields. Just click the tag icon in the upper right corner of the message box and select the desired field from the dropdown list. This list can be also opened by typing @ in the message box or using Ctrl+I hotkey. In case there is no stored value for the selected field, you can enter the fallback value to use instead.

Note! If you use custom fields in your message, it is impossible to say exactly how many characters (and messages) it will take. In this case the tilde sign appears before the number of characters meaning that this is an approximate estimation. If the message and/or the value of the custom field are too long, the message may not fit into one text.

Shorten URLs

If your message contains links, the URLs can be made substantially shorter to save precious space in the message. Just click Shorten URLs in the lower part of the message box. New links will still direct to the required page.
