Introduction

There is a wide range of templates on TruMESSAGING which you may need to create an autoresponder, an automation or an email blast. You can pick one and customize it to your needs. Let’s dig into TruMESSAGING templates!

This article touches upon the following subjects:

Actual Templates

There are four tabs on the Templates page: All Templates, System Templates, My Templates and Favorite Templates (see Figure 1). The All Templates section contains all existing templates: there are layout and custom ones sorted in alphabetical order. The System Templates section contains free system layouts.

You can add a template from All Templates or System Templates both to My Templates and Favorite Templates (see Figure 2). This is the way to have quick access to needed templates. To do this, click the three-dot button.

Various System Templates meet your every need and fit any case. They are divided into categories (see Figure 3). To filter System Templates by category, click on the downward arrow on the All Categories button and select the needed one.

You also can filter templates by language. All languages are selected by default. You can also select English or Russian. To filter templates by language, click on the downward arrow next to the word Language and select the desired language (see Figure 4).

How To Create A New Template

By Customizing

Template customizing is the simplest method - you don’t need to refine texts, surf the Internet for beautiful pictures or create sophisticated themes.

Now let’s create your own template by this medium. Let it be a template for an email blast. Let’s go!

1. Go to the Templates section. Make sure that you are in the Blasts section. Go to the System Templates tab.

2. Click the All Categories button.

3. Select a needed category from the dropdown list.

4. Choose an appropriate template and add it to My Templates by clicking on the three-dot menu.

5. Go to My Templates and click the three-dot button on the chosen template. You can edit, preview, rename, copy or delete this template as well as add it to Favorites (see Figure 9). Go to the What You Can Do With The Created Template section for a more detailed description.

6. To continue customizing, click Edit.

7. You are on the Edit page. Enter the name of your blast template.

8. Enter the subject of your blast template. You can make the subject personalized by using custom fields, e. g. the contact's first name. Just click the tag icon at the end of the text box and select the corresponding custom field from the dropdown list (see Figure 12). This list can be also opened by typing @ in the text box or using Ctrl+I hotkey. In case there is no stored value for the selected field, you can enter the fallback value to use instead.

9. Enter preview text which is a short summary of your email (see Figure 13). The customer will be able to see it before opening the email.

10. Enter a short description of your blast template (see Figure 14). It will help you to be well-versed in your templates, e. g. if you have several ones.

11. Choose language in the Language field to define a category into which the template will fit in filtration.

12. Now it’s time to customize your template in the HTML editor (see Figure 16). There are plenty of different ways to do this. You can edit, move or delete each element, including images, text, buttons, and even separating lines. Set your company’s name and logo, add a suitable image, and create a message that will provide your audience with the best email marketing experience.

13. While you are on the Edit page, you can preview your blast template. To do this, click on the Preview button in the upper right corner of the page (see Figure 17).

From Scratch

Haven’t found a needed template among the existing ones? Create it from scratch! Let’s do it through the example of a blast template.

1. Go to the Templates section. Make sure that you are in the Blasts section and click Add Template. You can find this button both in the upper right corner and in the middle of the page (see Figure 18).

2. Enter the name of your blast template.

3. Choose language.

4. Enter the subject of your blast template.

5. Now it’s time to enter the preview text.

6. Once filling in all the fields on the editing page, click Next.

7. Create your own blast template in the HTML editor by clicking the Add button. You can drop your content, change layouts, configure social media icons and other interaction tools. Click Finish (see Figure 24).

What You Can Do With The Created Template

Once you added a template to My templates or created a new one from scratch, you can find it in the My Templates tab. You can edit, preview, rename, copy or delete this template as well as add it to Favorites and create an email blast.

Preview

You can preview the template on mouse hover.

Create Email Blast

On mouse hover, you can create a new email blast from the template.

Edit

Click the three-dot button to edit your template.

Rename


To rename the template, click the three-dot button and choose Rename from the dropdown list. Enter a new name in the field. Click Save (see Figure 29).

Copy

Make a copy of your template by clicking the three-dot button and choosing a corresponding option.

Delete

Delete the template using the three-dot button.

Add To Favorites

To add the template to Favorites, click the three-dot button and choose a corresponding option.

You can also add the template to Favorites from All Templates or System Templates by clicking the heart icon in the upper right corner of the template.
